Almac-Sotebeer did a quality job from the design to the end produce. They put a 9,000 square foot addition onto our building in Edwardsburg. They work with our local zoning people, inspectors, to make sure all codes were complied with. The project was finished in a timely manor, and Dan was always available for questions and concerns. We would use Alma-Sotobeer again.

Almac Sotebeer has completed two major projects for Altec Engineering, Inc. over the last three years and we are very satisfied with the results. The first was an 8,000 square foot addition that was completed ahead of schedule. The second was an emergency repair to a 10,000 square foot section of one of our buildings that a semi tractor trailer damaged off the ITRC. John and Dan, and the entire Almac team, worked closely with us to make our building operational within days and to complete the major renovation in less that two months. We highly recommend them.

I would highly recommend that any business and/or homeowner steer very clear of this "Elkhart County" contractor. We chose to sign a contract with "Almac-Sotebeer" to erect a steel building mid-2016. The building as "agreed" was to be completed before "October of 2016". Unfortunately, the building did not begin an initial commencement until two months after the expected completion date.

The procrastination resulted in significant damages, including but not limited to, saturated, decaying, damaged insulation. The contractor "Almac-Sotebeer" did not follow the "architects" proposed recommendations "per se". The building had been erected without a "vapor barrier" below the concrete floor as called for in the plans. The contract called for, "Excluding the verbal agreements" that were not completed, two (2) 125,000 BTU radiant heaters, 16 light fixtures, a poured concrete floor to accommodate adequate floor drains, and a restroom. "Almac-Sotebeer" did not provide a copy of the architectural design for review before the commencement of work.

The restroom as required by code should be constructed with green board. Unfortunately, the restroom was constructed with standard 1/2" sheetrock, which is a code violation. The installation included only eight light fixtures, plumbing was inadequate, concrete floor drains not installed properly, numerous siding panels damaged, and the roof continues to leak. Unfortunately, the building is rapidly deteriorating due to the fact "no butyl" was installed to seal the existing framing members to the adjacent j-channels that support the exterior siding.

The building has now begun to experience rapid rusting, supporting framing members are decaying in a building that is less than two (2) very short years old. Public awareness is of utmost importance, do your homework, make sure you hire a company you can trust. "Almac-Sotebeer" is not a "trustworthy" company operating in Elkhart County, Indiana.
