From there, we forayed into the grocery store business, building refrigerated coolers, cases, shelving, millwork and miscellaneous installations common to grocery store fitouts. Grocery giant Ahold set us on our feet. The contract kicked off ARA's early years of growth, and a steep learning curve that took us from Martha's Vineyard to the mountains of West Virginia building anything and everything and enjoying every second of the journey.
ARA provides general contractor services in 42 states. We pride ourselves on listening to what you need, figuring out how to provide it, and working in a way that causes minimum disruption to your business. We also provide traveling crews without added costs to our clients. We've been offering commercial and retail construction services since 1987, so we've earned our reputation. Those services include ground-up construction, multi-use facilities, rehabs and retrofits of client's buildings, grocery and retail developments.
ARA Construction, through our sister company Tellus Woodshop, provides custom millwork, furniture and fixtures for grocery and other retail projects. We can build anything our clients ask for, but our specialty and our passion is for reclaimed wood. Here at ARA, we are committed to responsible building and we feel that reclaimed wood tells a story that new timber cannot.
