Services
C. J. Coakley Co., Inc. is a full-service interior contractor installing metal studs, drywall, acoustic ceilings, a full range of plaster products, and many other interior and exterior finishes. C. J. Coakley Co., Inc. is one of the largest drywall companies in the Washington DC metro area and installs more than eight million square feet of wallboard annually.
In 1962, Connie and Ellen Coakley began a small company that involved lathing, plastering and spray-applied fireproofing. Over fifty years later the company continues to thrive as a leader in the interior construction industry. As plaster began being replaced by drywall, the company embraced the changing market and began installing drywall which has become the core of our current business.
We have serviced many corporate and association customers such as PNC Bank, Google, RagingWire, Care First Blue Shield, NPR, General Dynamics, NRECA, Booz Allen Hamilton, MicroStrategy, Equinix, Sprint, Oracle, AIG, SAIC, Mobil Oil and State Farm Insurance Company. Some of the more notable office buildings we have completed are Wisconsin Place, 51 Louisiana Ave.
The largest sector of our work has been associated with the government and military. We have worked in the White House, the Eisenhower Executive Office Building and Blair House - and that is just one city block. We helped add basements to the U.S. Capitol, Virginia State Capitol and Pentagon. We renovated Wedge 1 at the Pentagon and are very proud to have participated in the Phoenix project which was the rebuild of the Pentagon after 9/11. We have renovated the National Archives twice and built National Archives II in College Park, Maryland.
