They don't communicate with there customers, they lie to the customers to steal work from other contractors.

We loved the superb work that they did for us. Each element was done to perfection. Our ADA compliant bathroom needs were met by Vince Scott, our Site Supervisor, and Jacin Morgan our tiler. Each of the subs were excellent. That is an important element when hiring a contractor - they are only as good as their subs! Vince Scott led each of them to work closely with me to measure every element needed to make the bathroom fit my needs - and future needs.

Each inch was confirmed! His carpentry work and finish work was superb! Jason Matthews was our project manager who made sure that we had the choices necessary to make the projects safe and beautiful. The subs that he had for us were Lopresti Cabinets for a unique design with an option for future wheelchair use. Progressive Plumbing were exceptionally careful about exactly where the handheld should be as well as the install of the Kohler Digital Valve for remote temperature control. Distinctive Glass gave us a gorgeous and smooth custom designed barn-door style shower glass with plenty of glass options. CounterFix did a gorgeous job of helping us choose a fully "Grout Free" shower base and walls! Stunning choices, thank you, Jason and the team. A truly worry-free experience.

We contacted this company when we noticed water damage on our interior wall. The guys that came for the assessment were very nice. Gary was very knowledgeable and was able to pinpoint the problem which was water coming through the back door. They charged us $552 for the assessment which they said can be applied to the job when they give us the proposal on how much it would cost to fix the door.

He said someone would contact us with the estimate for the job. Our check was cashed 3 days after the assessment. It's been two weeks since Gary came and we still have not heard from anyone about actually fixing the problem.

Chermak came out and repaired a deck they had put on several years ago. My experience with them was very professional and found them to be very courteous. Chermak is a company I would go to in the future for other home repairs And would recommend to others for their needs. Mary R. Service: Remodeling

We had a wonderful experience with Spencer and the Chermak company! They worked with our tight budget and even would call to tell us they found a better deal on materials and saved us $700 here, $1000 there---really amazing! We were beyond pleased with our business build out and they worked tirelessly to get us done by our goal deadline, even on weekends!

It felt that they really cared about our aesthetic and went to vintage and used shops to find just the right materials to fit our vintage look! We will definitely work with them again!

My dream kitchen is a reality thanks to Chermak Construction. This remodel has literally transformed our house. Our project manager, Dave, absorbed all our questions and concerns at the outset, addressed them all, gave us great advice and ideas and helped us make decisions, explained everything thoroughly, and kept tabs on everything throughout the whole process.

He was always just a quick phone call or email away. We knew we were in very good hands right from the start. Our designer, Michelle, also listened carefully and sorted through all our random ideas and notions to come up with a design that was like a beautiful gift to us--she not only made sense of our wishful thinking but also totally surprised us by turning part of the design around 90 degrees and thus giving us all the light, space, and utility we hoped for and then some!

Our site manager, Richard, was a veritable saint. He kept everything running, built beautiful things, fixed anything, organized everybody, and solved problems--and throughout it all, he was always cheerful, had a great sense of humor, and never once got cross. We don't know how he did it! It was such hard work in the heat of summer, and he really poured his heart and soul into making our kitchen wonderful. Johnny, the painter, did meticulous work and we are grateful for having such lovely walls and trim. Likewise, Jacin, the tilesetter, did beautiful work on the backsplash and took great care with everything he did to make it perfect.

And that's just the Chermak employees--everybody the company hired to do electrical work etc. was likewise super-professional. All in all, everybody worked on our little house as if it were Downton Abbey and turned it into a home that is now not only more functional and efficient but also graceful, comfortable, and pretty. Our kitchen is now truly the heart of our home where people can comfortably gather, converse, and enjoy a meal. THANK YOU!

My husband and I were quite disappointed with this design/build firm. We hired them to create a design for one of our bathrooms, and gave the project manager a detailed and complete scope prior to engaging their services. He assured us they could create a design and build it within the limits of our firm budget. The woman who created the design was experienced and good. However, the cost was $10,000 above our budget.

When we expressed dissatisfaction and were unable to proceed due to cost, the project manager refused to give us the drawings/list of materials that we paid for. Surprised, I asked to speak to the new owner of the company, who sided with the project manager, and continued to deny us the design we had paid for, saying the design took more hours to come up with than they had budgeted.

If they spent more time designing our project than they planned, that is unfortunate, but that was out of our control and should not have prevented us from getting what we paid for. I have never written this negative a review, and do not do so lightly. Again, the designer was talented, but the project manager and owner disappointed us. As a result, we lost both time and money.

We used Chermak for a bathroom remodel and they did a good job. It was a modest project but they completed it on time and on budget. Our project manager was helpful and informative. The only negative was that some of the subcontractor work needed to be redone, and we had to push to get Chermak to make them fix the work, but overall it was a good experience.

Every major remodel will have unique challenges along the way, but the team from Chermak who worked on our project made sure we were totally happy with the result. We love our new bathroom, and it came in on budget!

There were some bumps along the way, but our team at Chermak made sure all our expectations are met, and the result is beautiful. They were very amenable to work with us when we wanted to do some of the work ourselves, and used fixtures we purchased. And yes, our bathroom project came in on budget.

When I called them last fall they were too busy to return my calls. Now that I have blueprints and I'm ready to spend money they're happy to speak to me so I set up an appointment. However, Rich said he would come today at 9:30 am and now he's a no show. I realize contractors are busy but this is not acceptable. My architect warned me about Chermak and she was right.

We had a challenging remodel - the worst winds and rains in recent history on our waterfront project (and resulting water intrusion), navigating shoreline exemptions, reasoning with difficult officials (and demanding clients), and making a tight budget work. Chermak took on the challenges with grace and a true customer service orientation. They stood true to their quality reputation and we are so happy we went with them as when issues arose (as they do with remodels) they really stepped up.

Even though they had an ownership change as our remodel was wrapping, their core crew is still there and their response rate and customer service is solid. A year later and we are still incredibly happy with the end product, their warranty, and their responsiveness. Thank you, Chermak!

Details and pictures to follow. They hire subcontractors and do little to inspect the quality of that work. The sad thing is that the true damage that results from poor workmanship, and not following standard building methods, doesn't show up for years. The risers on my front entry stairs have rotted from the inside because of insufficient venting.

A terrible problem but only one of many!"""""""""Their response to me follows: After careful consideration and discussion with Chermak Construction Senior Management of your exterior cladding issues, it has been determined that the claddings and trims were installed per plan and / or exterior details of your drawings. Therefore, Chermak Construction will not be providing any compensation regarding the compromised areas. If requested, Chermak Construction will propose an estimate for repairs.

We relocated a laundry room from the 1st floor to a new space on the 2nd floor. The project included enclosing the new space with a wall and door; and, running new plumbing, electrical, and ventilation. The new space is 36 sq. ft. Overall, we had a poor experience working with Chermak Construction. The reason we chose Chermak over other companies was because they're a company that does as-built measurements, 3D design, and construction.

The as-built and design phases were disappointing, to say the least. They measured and re-measured the space incorrectly and presented designs that weren't even possible with the given space. We never ended up getting a design that gave us a clear picture of what the room would look and feel like. The communication between design and our, so called, Project Manager (Mark Lowe) was very poor.

These things should have been a red flag for us to pull from the company and go with another, however, we had already spent $1100 for the design and weren't willing to go through the process of finding another company again. The issues of poor communication and mistakes continued to present themselves throughout the construction phase of the project as well. Plumbing, electrical, and roof vents were installed incorrectly and had to be re-done.

Mark Lowe was difficult to talk to and unprofessional throughout the project. We consistently had to follow up with him when we'd e-mail him with questions, he consistently showed up late for meetings (or not show up), didn't take notes at meetings, and he would roll his eyes at us when he didn't agree with us. Sub contractors and inspectors would show up at our house without any warning and wouldn't always know what they were supposed to do, so I'd have to tell them.

The project was completed two weeks late and the end result of the new room is usable but not what we expected. I believe Chermak took advantage of us and overcharged us for this project. This should have been a very easy project for a company of their size but it proved to be more than they were able to handle. I can't imagine how difficult it would be to work with them on a major re-model project.

We had a conference call with the owner (Noah France) to express our concerns at the end of the project, and he did listen, but we did not leave that meeting feeling satisfied that these issues wouldn't happen again for someone else. We thought, as an owner, he'd be embarrassed by how poorly this project was managed and implemented but he didn't seem surprised. If you are still reading this, please steer clear of Chermak Construction.

New Kitchen Complete! Thank you Chermak Construction; Michael Reagan & Tom Summerford, Architectural Cabinets in Arlington; Dick Noble. We love our new kitchen! 23 Years was a long time to live in a kitchen we did not like. 8 weeks and voila the kitchen of my dreams. We enjoyed working with everyone and we are so thankful for all the care and consideration by all contractors in our home. Thank you for working with us to make our dream a reality.

We first used Chermak to repair a hole in the outside siding of our house. We were so impressed with the contractor's work ethic and demeanor that we requested him for our recent kitchen remodel. Chermak employees are professional, organized, friendly, and seriously concerned about their client's thoughts about the project. We had weekly meetings about the remodel and upcoming week's activities.

Our kitchen remodel grew into the adjacent family room and powder room. Any requests were quickly addressed and often the same day. The quality of their work is impressive. Although our remodel is done, they stand by for anything missed. We highly recommend Chermak Construction.

There can be no such thing as a perfect contractor. the job is just fraught with opportunities for imperfection. I don't know of a human run contractor shop that can earn five stars. But. if you're looking for a solid, local contractor, with people who care about quality because they rely on their reputation, then Chermak is a good bet. One more motivator, they pay their employees well, and it shows with company loyalty and a strong work ethic.

We had lots of odds and ends done in our house: had a big walk in closet framed up and finished in our basement, had a basement bathroom with an exposed ceiling drywalled and new lighting and ventilation installed, and various other little handyman jobs. The world is real, so there were unexpected things found during the job that required replanning, and yes, we had a wire cut accidentally.

So there were a few rework items, but they were handled so well that it actually served as a talking point for endorsement. Finish work on the drywall and doors was excellent. New doors are so perfect that it's still a zen-like experience to swing them.seriously. it's a 1960 house, so to have things squared in there perfectly, swinging noise-free, is a cause for celebration.

Other doors installed by less expensive contractors still have annoying quirks about them. just not quite right. My experience with getting bids is that Chermak's bids typically won't be the lowest. But. and this is the clincher. their bids don't grow as much during execution, as they are very professional, so their estimates are just more realistic. So, to recap.

If you're looking to do some work on your house, and you want to get people in there who are there to make sure you're happy, and dedicated to quality results. call Chermak.
