The idea behind the Design-Build model of construction may seem obvious, yet the benefits of working with a true Design-Build firm such as Devcon goes well beyond the basic concept of the architect and the builder operating under the same contract. By integrating in-house design and construction management since its inception, Devcon has developed a professional environment of collaboration and continual conversation between highly trained and experienced professionals. This communication style allows Devcon to produce quality projects in a shortened timeline compared to a traditional Design-Bid-Build project delivery method.
Our team is looking for energetic, team-oriented individuals who can work in a fast-paced, high energy environment through the entire project design process and construction. If you think you have what it takes to be a member of the Devcon family, please take a look at our Careers page. We look forward to meeting you!

We hired Devcon to do our tenant improvement work for a professional downtown office space, and we're extraordinarily happy that we did. They assigned a team of knowledgeable project managers, superintendents, and even a designer from their in-house architecture department to help lay-out and build the open concept space we were looking for. During the course of the work, we had weekly coordination meetings, and were kept fully informed of the progress and cost of the project.

On several occasions, Devcon's team was able to recommend alternatives and other value engineering options that we hadn't thought about, but which ended-up reduced the cost of the work without compromising the design. Because our space is in an occupied building, a lot of the work had to be done after hours and only after coordinating with building management and other tenants.

No problem whatsoever--in fact, once we told our landlord that we were going to work with Devcon, they knew that we had chosen a professional contracting company and were able to work directly with Devcon's team to get all of the necessary insurance certificates, coordinate access, and to get all of the subcontractor payment release forms. We finished on time and on budget.

I suggest that you check them out. We knew that Devcon builds some of the largest projects in the Bay Area, but we felt like they treated our smaller project with the same level of attention and care that we give our clients.

This is a great place. They are always on time and willing to satisfy business needs. I know someone who has worked here for 20 years and it doesn't seem like they'd want to be anywhere else. They are a well represented brand in the Bay Area and now I know the reason why!

I did not have any business dealings with Devcon Construction, but Mr. Rutledge, who is the Project Superintendent, his crew was doing some work across the parking lot where I work. I get into work, park and go about my day. When I come out 9 hours later my truck has splotches of beige all over the sides and back of my truck. When I get home my husband notices too and investigates.

The findings were that it was plaster. Come to find out they parked a truck spraying plaster next to my truck. Never informing security to investigate who car it was or even covering my truck to shield it from what could be paint damaging plaster. I wrote a note displaying my disapproval of how the crew did not inform or protect my car. About a week later a see a card on my windshield from Ron Rutledge and on the back it read "I am sorry about your car please call me".

I emailed him back and he says he would pay for me to get a car wash. I agreed since I had already gotten one and the plaster did come off. I figured a free car wash would be nice. He agreed to supply a gift card to a car wash place. About 2 weeks passed and no word from Ron. I emailed him and he told me that he didn't have time to go and get a gift card and wanted to give me cash.

I guess I was floored that he had let 2 weeks go by maybe hoping I forgot, when it was your staffs fault that my car was sprayed with plaster. Needless to say I was kinda pissed and after speaking to my husband I had told him that his lack of response and attention to this matter was unacceptable so I was going to decline the cash for the car wash.

A week later we were having a work BBQ and they were coming in with a cement truck and was working around those cars without informing anyone. We had employees running out to move their cars. A bunch of idiots working at this sight!

Devcon did not meet budget or quality of work standards. Lots of reasons why every mistake is your mistake not theirs.
