More than 2 years after my wife and I built our home with Long Built, they are still responding to my emails and phone calls. Recently I had a plumbing issue and Chris Long was on the phone with me the same day that I emailed her about the issue. Chris placed a phone call and arranged to get someone out the next day to fix the problem. Even though the issue encountered was well past the one-year warranty period, Chris never questioned or mentioned that while we spoke. The Long Built responsiveness and willingness to stand by their homes is why they'll always get 5 stars in my book!

Long Built Homes is a fantastic family oriented business. We have built two homes with them in the past 10 years and they make the process so seamless from initial meeting to closure. Their attention to detail, choices of products/homes, and warranty are fantastic and their whole company is very responsive and they always keep lines of communication. We highly suggest to anyone wanting to build a home to contact Long Built Homes!

My family and I contracted with Long Built Homes to build our forever home. Being a busy family, Long Built made the process smooth and care free. The process of choosing our home location, home style, colors and upgrade options was efficiently facilitated in their showroom which removed the hassle and time spent traveling from vendor showroom to vendor showroom.

After we completed our selections, we signed our agreement and from there just let them handle the process (permitting, site engineering, home construction, etc). We've been in the house now 1 year with just about zero issues. And, any issues we have had have been promptly attended to by their warranty department. Honestly, we couldn't be happier with our decision to entrust LBH with this project.

My husband and I had purchased land in Mattapoisett and wanted to build. In a crazy market with prices of materials rising we felt very overwhelmed on locking down a home design and builder within our budget. We met with 2 other builders and felt very discouraged in that we could not build the house that met the pricing and specifications we wanted and needed.

Until we spoke to Long Built Homes. They had so many options within our price range and we were able to modify and add additional space where needed. They were so positive during the process and made us feel 100% "at home" and taken care of. They have built 100's of homes which you could tell through their experience and professionalism from start to finish.

If there was ever a hiccup they corrected it right away. I don't know if we would be in our newly designed beautiful home if it weren't for Long Built Homes. Thank you for everything Long Built Homes Team!

Thanks to Mr Evan James and Mr Gordon Cruz for their great customer service after the construction and the warranty process. These guys are great.

WARNING: Do Not Trust Longbuilt Homes. I just went through almost three months of designing our home with their Sales Director, Matt Medeiros just for him to cancel our agreement two days before the signing day. It was an awful experience and ended horrible. The whole time Matt was very hard to get a hold of, vague with his responses, and short with his answers.

He always made you feel like you were bothering him if you requested any changes or information and acted very unprofessional. And unfortunately he is the ONLY sales person for the whole company. There is no option to work with anyone else. We put up with him because ultimately we thought we were getting the best deal we could get during these challenging times.

We finished the whole design process and Long Built sent us a P&S to review. We had the signing date scheduled. I made one request 3 business days before the signing date. I requested that the garage be changed from front facing to side facing (an option they have). Matt responded back terminating our agreement. This was absolutely heartbreaking. Here we are three months into this, put all our heart and hopes into designing our dream home and he ripped it away.

I tried retracting my request assuming it was the straw that broke the camels back but they stopped answering my emails and call. They dropped us just like that. I finally got on the phone with Bob the CEO hoping he would be able to help and he was just as heartless. He told me the decision is final and they will not build my home. My family and I are amazed at how dishonest, unethical and cruel this company turned out to be.

We read reviews like this before starting this process but thought all the positive reviews outweighed the bad. Please do yourself a favor and don't put yourself in the position to be hurt by this company like we did. We have lost time, money, and have been emotionally hurt by this whole process. We wish we never heard of Long Built Homes.

I love my new home! The Long Built team has been great to work with! They have always been there to address any issues and concerns and have made the process easy. I worked closely with Rochelle, Matt, Evan and Gordon and they have made my experience here an easy and smooth one. Love my neighborhood. Chris has been amazing as well. She has made sure everything has been taken care of. All of the Long Built team has been awesome in communicating things and they continue to do so!

I thought I'd share what it is like dealing with Long Built when it comes time for your 11 month warranty check. I do not have a favorable opinion of the company. But, as you look and see many positive reviews, understand that A. The company will offer you $100 for a favorable Google review. And B. If you leave them a negative review, they will ask you to remove it and write another, more positive one.

The company does things as cheaply as they can and try to be done with you, the buyer/homeowner, as quickly as they can. Individuals within the company can become quite condescending when you start asking appropriate questions about the construction and layout of your potential new home. Comments like, "We've built over 1200 homes, you need to just trust us, " were made.

They do not make you feel like 1 person, 1 family building 1 home. They make it abundantly clear that you are just 1 of over 1200. There are many options and design changes that you can make to your potential new home, but Long Built will not tell you about all of them. You have to discover them on your own. And certain features, some extended islands, different lighting, different outlet wiring, they will flat out tell you no they will not do it, even though you have been in other houses and know for a fact they will.

I have been speaking in generalities, so allow me to show and talk about specific examples. As mentioned before, you have warranty checks. 1 month, 6 months, and 11/12 months. They tell you to prioritize certain things for certain checks. Get all the pressing issues taken care of in the first two checks and save the smaller details for the 11 month.

We did that. For starters, during our walk through before closing, we pointed out a terrible scratch in our hardwood floor. We were told that it was just "an imperfection in the wood." The picture is shown above. That was mentioned in every warranty check and it was never fixed. Instead, we were made to feel like we were idiots for even bringing it up.

Another picture you can see is the door to my garage. Those screws were literally pulled out by hand. It is after the 11 month warranty check, so we have no recourse. But quite honestly, it isn't hard to install a door, so why would we even notice that? This just speaks to the quality of the work in the house. The third picture is another exterior door.

This door jamb broke after the door was closed in a normal fashion. Again, after the 11 month, so we have no recourse. These pictures just speak to the absolute sub-par contract and finish work that Long Built provides you with. Other examples include, trim not being painted at all. Sub-contractors leaving cigarette buts on our property while working on the sidewalks. Sub-contractors driving over and breaking sprinkler heads while working on a neighbor's yard. Sub-contractors taking stone, which was not theirs, and trying to use it for their own projects.

At the final warranty checks 11 or 12 months later, even though they have told you to be thorough in what you wanted fixed, they will make comments like, "you are just being petty, " and, "do you really think this needs to be fixed?" We had numerous other issues that needed to be fixed and are not specific to our house. Cracks in the basement. Cracks in the garage. Cracks in our steps.

Some of the issues they reluctantly fixed, after partially animated discussion, and some that they flat out refused to fix. The overall conclusion is this. We built in our neighborhood for the people. Not Long Built. It was a poor experience dealing with the company and one that we wish we never had to do. Homes are built as cheaply and as quickly as they possibly can be. You are not treated like you are special, you are treated like one out of over 1200. You can, and will find better developers out there.

I can't say enough good things about the team at Long Built Homes! Chris Long went above and beyond to make sure my family and I were happy. She constantly checked in and made sure the process was going smoothly for us and fixed any hiccups along the way. After closing on our home in July 2019, the warranty team has been fantastic! The first 8 months were easy, but our 1 year fell within the pandemic. Chris and the warranty team pushed out our warranty and helped us with small issues that arose up to 16 months after closing.

They are always professional, rational, and willing to make their "customers" happy. I hesitate using the word "customer" because we never felt like that--we always felt like we were part of the process. My family and I highly recommend Long Built Homes!

The Long Built Homes team made the building process seamless from the start. Their salesman, Matt explained every step from the beginning and his maintained transparency throughout the project with weekly progress emails and photos. The design process was simple and customizable with many high quality finishes and options to choose from. The warranty team has been amazing. Evan and Gordon are highly knowledgeable in all aspects of your home and they are always available.

Even now, 15 months post closing, they are willing to go above and beyond. Everyone is super friendly and always accommodating, going out of their way to help in any way they can. Whenever we have questions or need assistance someone is there without exception. Bob and Christine Long have not only met our expectations, they have far exceeded them. We are pleased with every aspect of our new home and would proudly build with Long Built Homes again.

BUYERS BEWARE! Here is a story about the Long Built Process. We got as far as selecting colors and upgrades to get to the final P&S signing value. During this process, there were a few items we asked if we could change. About 75% of these changes that were not on the upgrade list were suggested by Matt Medieros, the other 25% were wishes that Matt said could be done.

After a week and a half of following up on some added cost items, we were surprised to find an email from Matt saying our deposit was getting refunded and that we are more suited for a "Custom Builder". We were shocked and confused as most of the changes were suggested and agreed as possible by Matt! Something didn't seem right! When we asked for a further explanation, we were ignored.

Then my wife was able to break through via text. This time the explanation was "You guys want very particular things. Rob is a project manager and skilled in design in some way. He will question things all along the way and we feel we will not be able to please you guys". This is a completely different explanation than "we are more suited for a custom builder".

In fact, I would call this discrimination based on my education background and current employment. We attempted to reach out to Bob Long twice, only to receive no response. My wife even went as far as to go down to New Bedford to the Long office to confront Matt face to face to try to convince him otherwise. My wife got the run around and Matt said we would talk to the rest of the group to see if they wanted to give it another change.

This was now on 9/10. Needless to say a week went by and never heard back. We send another email on 9/16, and still got ignored. So now we are here throwing in the towel. Needless to say, be very cautious of their process. If you have any type of background in design and construction, most likely they will not move forward with you. They don't want anyone to question anything.

Their interest is not you; it's getting their money and building your house as fast as possible. So don't ask for any additional upgrades above and beyond what they offer! You may get yes'd to death, but it's all a sales pitch and you can easily see right through it. Talk to the neighbors as well. They will tell you how difficult their process was. If you need any more convincing, feel free to reach out to me directly and we will be happy to provide emails and texts to show you how great the process is!

We moved into our home 2 months ago and have been happy as a clam! Long built has been professional, responsive, and extremely flexible with our move and any questions we have as new home owners. I would highly recommend them as a builder on the SouthShore.

Buyer beware. We had to replace our entire front porch 5 years after the house was built, costing $5,500! We also had to replace the sliding basement window, which was constantly leaking. This is the same window that the warranty bozos tried to silicone up three times! The propane fireplace was never installed properly and has a wicked draft, which at least a dozen other homeowners in the development have complained about and of course nothing was done. Don't believe everything you read on the Guild Quality site because half of the time they never post the 1-2 star ratings.

They build the same house over and over and over but if they find a mistake in one, don't expect they will fix it in yours. My 6 year old house has water damage worse than a hundred year old house. And don't expect any help from them how to fix their mistake. Three phone calls and two emails have gone unanswered.
