Did you know that something as simple and affordable as caulking can have a significant impact on the lifespan of your home or commercial structure? Ensuring your property is correctly sealed can help to cut down on utility costs, avoid water from finding its way into your home, and provide additional protection to the structure.
As stone and brick homes and buildings age, the mortar that is used to stack and place these features can begin to deteriorate and crumble. Even the best-built structures will typically start to show signs of wear and tear without some level of upkeep and maintenance. Mariani & Richards, Inc. provides professional tuck-pointing services to home and business owners throughout the Greater Pittsburgh communities.

We have had zero communication with Mariani & Richards. We get no responses to requests for phone calls, no answers to emails, no updates. We don't know what's going on! We wanted to have them give us an estimate, the man who came out for the initial estimate (don't even know his name, he gave us no business card), NEVER EVEN SENT US AN ESTIMATE, and this is from back in October or November! We'd love to hear from Mariani & Richards, if someone from there would deign to contact us!

I contacted M&R (Mariani and Richards, Inc) for emergent repairs on two chimneys on my home. One was worse off than the other. From the time I called to schedule an estimate to the time Mr. Schmidt called to come and do the estimate was one week. He quoted me 3,600.00 for the repairs on two chimneys. Other companies quoted me for the same chimneys 11+k and 8k.

Some were not even scheduling work to be done at the time I called. If they were they were scheduling into 2021. Once I agreed that M&R would do the work, the initial date was set for 11/30/2020 for the repairs. There was no call from the company on 11/30/2020 but there was awful weather that day, which is why no one came. After about a week later I had heard nothing about a re-schedule date so I called to follow up and spoke with Mr. Schmidt.

We re-scheduled for 12/9/2020 but then he called me back later and asked if we could do 12/8/2020, which was fine. Luckily the weather was behaving well enough that the crew could come and repair my chimneys on 12/8. The two men that came were polite, communicative, worked quietly, worked safely, efficiently, and cleaned up after they were done. They were great!

I appreciate Mr. Schmidt working me into his schedule as fast as he could and the two men who safely fixed my chimneys. I will definitely use them again and refer them to others. If anything could have been done better I would have just wished that I didn't have to call on 11/30 or the week after for follow ups. That would be about it. Other than that I had a great experience and my chimneys are beautiful! Thank you!

Had a representative from the company come to our home to give us a quote. He was very professional. They never got back with us. I called their office twice, giving them plenty of time to work up a quote for us and still have never heard from them. I am aware that alot of contractors/companies don't get back with you, but I personally don't feel that is any way to do business.

I'm sure this is a good business that does great work, but if you can't do the job, have time for it or whatever the reason, SAY SO. Don't leave people hanging. It takes a minute or two to make a call to say you are unable to do the work. PERIOD!

One room in my finished basement has leaked for several years during sever downpours. Mariani & Richards fixed the leak by sealing the outside of my foundation. It was not necessary to tear up the floor in my basement, and the fix worked perfectly. No more leakage.

Mariani & Richards is a #1 company, not only is it a great place to work, but the basement work is right on target, for years my basement leaked, my father and husband struggled every spring digging exterior French drains around the entire home, only to result in the sneaky water getting in under, finally, the company's top employee Chris put an interior drain inside the perimeter of my home, as I lived on a hillside and the run off was literally like a waterfall when it rained, I am pleased to say 7 years dry as a bone! You decide, fight the battle or solve it for good. I did!

Mariani & Richards was easy to contact through the website, and they called in a couple of days to set up the estiment appointment. They who came out was nice, but he didn't really inspect the area that needed work. The government, masonry companies, and the M&R website all state that the mortar used for repairs must match the mortar originally used, so I asked the guy what mortar he would use.

He says type N, "that's what we use for all indoor jobs." Now that mortar is too hard for the old bricks on my home, and the fact that they sent a guy who didn't seem to represent what was written on their own website caused me to give them 2 stars
