I normally do not review businesses online, but this one is long overdue because my husband and I have been so busy enjoying our beautiful new home for the last 6 months. We found a lot in AACo and called Timberlake to help us design and build our home on the property and what I thought would have been a daunting experience was the opposite. Our biggest concern was that the market was making buying an existing home almost impossible so we felt we needed to be open to the idea of building and we are so relieved and grateful that we did - especially with Timberlake!

From the first meeting (virtually due to the pandemic) to our design meetings, to weekly updates, their professional recommendations, and the overall communication and quality of what we received with Timberlake, you just cannot beat it. Their team is unmatched- Dave, Danny, Jason, and even Lucy (the golden retriever) and we always felt like they cared about our input and had it all under control week by week.

We love our home and feel like we hit the jackpot when it came to their straight-forward approach on the process. If you are ever considering building, you have to use Timberlake!

Update: As you can see, it even took them 5 more months to give a generic copy and paste response to my review (and virtue signaling their Veteran status). Many of my family, including my father gave their life for their country, and never once did they ever feel the need to play on their veteran status in their civil life). I've been sitting comfortably in my new home now, no thanks to this company.

In fact, you're better off contacting your local realtor and seeing who they recommend (many realtors support the veteran community and so do companies with less complaints over quality). Spent the entire summer of back and forth emailing and mostly unanswered phone calls. The representative was first sick. Then she was out on vacation, then finally after months of little communication we hear back that our budget was slightly too low.

Not sure why they couldn't tell us this up front. I strongly advise that you do not waste time with this company. Instead buy your own approved builder plans online or hire an architect then hire any licensed General contractor to build for you. They even mentioned there was a conflict of interest with a potential piece of land we were thinking of but couldn't even confirm if thier other client would actually buy it. Again, just buy your own land, hire an architect or pay for the certified plans online (see online reputable architect sites) and then have your own local builder do the work.

I know a great builder but I put him off because I had misplaced faith in this company. Don't make the mistake that I did. Do it locally, do it right. And just an aside, it's still much cheaper to buy homes on the market now that have more square footage that are less than 25 years old then to buy from this company. Guys, the price of wood is down. complete waste of time

Bought a town home from them. It is lovely. The finishes are amazing. The sales professional, Jhia, was more than accommodating. And the site manager, BJ, was always nice and helped me understand my new home. I couldn't have asked for a better new home experience. The appliances chosen and the finished were all very beautiful!

It's been ten glorious years since I moved into my beautiful Timberlake home. I was impressed with the professionalism and the great attention to detail displayed by the builder throughout the entire building process. I remember the joy I felt the day I was given the keys to my new home, it's the same joy I feel every time I pull into my driveway today! Thank you Timberlake Homes! MML

BEWARE OF TIMBERLAKE HOMES! Timberlake Homes attempted to pour foundations for two different home lots for my wife and I, at Cheltenham Estates in Clinton, MD, and FAILED miserably. The first foundation was cracked in various places due to shabby craftsmanship. The cracks were plentiful and varied in width and depth. An epoxy was applied in an attempt to repair the damages.

After negotiating out of that contract we gave Timberlake a second opportunity to get it right and chose a different lot to build. The second foundation was poured incorrectly, which led to having cracks, honeycombing, and cold joints running throughout its entire perimeter. All of these conditions weakens the foundation, which consequently can lead to flooding and structural issues later.

The sad thing is, once Timberlake executives were made aware of these conditions, they didn't do anything but apologize and made excuses, even stating that foundation flaws of this kind are a natural part of the business when building. For the record, Timberlake is selling both of those homes with repaired and damaged foundations to unsuspecting new home buyers for over $690,000. Timberlake is cutting corners that has very serious implications to home buyers down the road. Timberlake actions show that we could not trust them in doing a competent, professional job in pouring a foundation.

Everything that we discovered wrong was because of our own due diligence and NOT because Timberlake told us. We even paid for a Structural Engineer who validated our concerns. Communication, follow up and follow through on various important issues throughout the process was slow and in some cases nonexistent. In the midst of all of this activity we also noticed that several large bags of trash was left in our lot during construction, which was embarrassing to find.

This was yet another indicator showing how Timberlake failed our family and others that were exposed to the excessive trash. It took a lot for us to walk away from something that we spent over a year invested in emotionally, physically, mentally, and financially, but we realized Timberlake Homes certainly didn't have ours (or the other buyers) best interest in mind so we had to look out for ourselves.

I hope that this story can prevent at least one person from going through what we went through. People, please do your homework, get educated about the building processes, and don't EVER just go by what the builder is communicating to you. Hiring a Structural Engineer was worth every penny. From the start, ask questions and hold the builder accountable.

Physically walk the site on your own and with the builder. Make sure the builder provides documentation along the way confirming the proper procedures are used and inspections are being held. One final bit of advice.always follow your instincts. We had many red flags throughout our entire dealings with Timberlake Homes that we kept trying to ignore. If something doesn't feel right, it probably isn't right.
