MJS Landscaping

We worked with Tracy Jenks on our landscaping and hardscaping project in 2021. She was a dream to work with: very responsive, great ideas, ensured outside contractors did their parts on time, figured out product options when timing was able to be moved up and supply chain issues were rampant. She was patient as we made adjustments to the plan early on, provided photos of work done while we were away, did what she said she was going to all along and always had a smile.

Their work was not the cheapest quote we received but not the highest either, and even during the quote process NO ONE else compared when it came to listening to what we wanted, being responsive and did what they promised. We've gotten so many compliments and we absolutely love it. Worth every penny!

This company is the real deal. They do there best everytime, rain or shine. I would recommend them to anyone!

I'm president of our homeowners association so I get to gather quotes for fertilizing and cutting the grass in our large common areas. Andy provided a very detailed and competitive quote so we went with MJS for 2020. Their attention to detail on site is very good plus Andy is the only contractor to ever follow up with me, asking how his crew was performing. For that reason alone, I would highly recommend their services.

We worked with David Fatla on the front end as well as throughout our project and are ecstatic with our investment and the finished product. David worked with Us on the design as well as being on site as needed throughout our project. The crew, led by Dan, was amazing and very passionate about the work they did. MJS also has great relationships with other contractors (driveway, pergola, plumber, and electrician) and made everything happen on schedule and on budget, even during COVID. Mike Steiner, the owner of MJS, was also very involved towards the end of our project. Can't wait to have the MJS team help us out in the future.

Landscape and hardscape design and install were very good. Total project cost was $39 000. The lawn install (13000 sq fr) was $12000 of the $39k. The lawn install was very poor. Footprints were left in the lawn deep enough to be ankle breakers. Standing water in 3 areas. The final lawn grade was poor. Felt like mowing a washer board. They came out the following spring to correct the problems. Rolled the lawn, regraded the problem areas and filled the foot prints.

The regraded area still has standing water, foot prints are still visible 2 months after fill. Regraded area still is a washer board. It's obvious they do not do many lawn installs. Even though the landscape and hardscape were very good, I would not use MJS for any project. I did not like the attitude of management nor their efforts to problem solve.

I also had to ask the crew to clean the compacted soil from the street. Took 15 minutes and shouldn't have to ask for this to be done. This is the 3rd house I had built and by far the worst lawn install. Also had 5 trees planted. 4 of the 5 were poor installs. Took me 60 minutes per tree to correct.

The most unprofessional and disrespectful business we have ever worked with. Took almost a year to get them out to fix ALL the issues with our landscaping and when they came out they didn't fix the problems. They only came out with a few plantings to replace and didn't replace all the other dead ones. We have numerous problems going on with our landscaping that they won't fix.

This landscaping cost us a lot of money and we have had to hire another landscaping company to come and fix all the problems we have had with MJS. We would never what any other homeowner go thru the stress and expense that we have with MJS and as a result we would never recommend them to anyone.

I live in a condominium complex. The board decided to switch from Terra Tech Landscaping to MJS Landscaping. This is the first winter that MJS has been doing the snow removal and it is beyond horrible. They don't show up until the snow fall is over. Then they rush through the job and barely get the sidewalks cleared. The first large snowfall we had the snow plow crews made one pass down the sidewalk that was it.

I had to leave signs telling them to clear the entire sidewalk. Barely put any salt down and leave mounds snow in front of the cars and garage doors. Terrible terrible terrible service. Maybe their forte is grass not snow!

Outstanding company. Highly recommended. MJS did my entire landscaping design and I am extremely happy with the results.
