My fiancee and I are ready to sell our small condo and find a bigger home to grow into. We are exploring all of our options and have done a lot of research and have decided we'd like to buy land and build or purchase a modular home. We have lots of questions and want to be as well prepared as possible. I work from a desk Monday though Friday, and have a fiancee who travels for work so often my free time after work is limited.

I decided to try and call NH Modular Homes LLC on my way to class after my work day to make a connection with someone over the phone, ask some basic questions that I couldn't find on the website, and in general just talk about the modular home process with this company. I talk to clients all day long, so for me, it's satisfying to just talk to a real person to get answers, versus just researching on the web.

When I called and headlined why I was calling, the person who answered the phone laughed at me. I asked why she was laughing and she asked if I was driving? I was, and told her yes (Bluetooth / hands-free is a wonderful thing). She then went on to explain that she felt it was ridiculous to be calling while driving and that I must not have been very serious if I was making this call while driving.

I was so taken aback that I let the woman know I would shop elsewhere. I'm not sure what the normal business practice is for companies such as this, but I would think that laughing and disrespecting prospective clients is not the best way to earn business or build a great reputation.
