As president of Newport Builders, I am responsible for all areas of operations of the business. I maintain all credentials and building licenses for the company. In this role, I am able to draw on education, experience and relationships that I have developed during my 30 years in the new construction industry.

Were going on 6 years in our Newport home and we love it. Although there were some hiccups with the build they did a nice job of addressing them. Our only complaint is that we wish we had built slightly bigger.

June 16,2022, Newport warranty claim people visited my house to hear my concern. They claimed siding installation instruction could have changed since 2016. I contacted LPSMARTSIDE and confirmed no changes were made to installation instructions since time home was built. Pouring concrete on siding was not acceptable then as it is not acceptable now.

I appreciated the site visit and told them I am want to work with them to resolve this issue to make it right. I asked them to provide cost to fix. I sent Newport you tube video and wall detail to help them understand the issues related to pouring concrete over wood siding. Waiting to for response. My major complaint with Newport is they installed concrete step in contact with LP Snartside.

They basically used the wood siding as one side of the step form. No barrier was installed between siding and concrete. Newport claimed it was acceptable construction practice. I contacted LP Smartside and they said contractor made huge error in installation. LP Smartside sent me installation instructions that clearly state never allow concrete or any masonry to contact LP Smartside.

By doing so, Newport voided the 50 year warranty on LP Smartside. I have had other quality issues with products installed. They are very helpful on resolving issues related to material manufacturers. Several weeks after my initial complaint regarding siding/concrete Newport sent two people to hear my case. Hopefully, they can facilitate action. My hope is Newport wants learn from mistakes so they don't repeat them in the future. I want to work with Newport to find a solution.

Our experience as custom home builders with Newport has been excellent. All of our questions have been answered in a timely fashion with great detail. Liz & Kim who work as a team to support the design of the floor plan, have fun personalities that put you at ease as you make the many decisions that go into building a new home. Liz has a great eye for details & design. Kim is very professional and quick to respond to questions and concerns on pricing and availability of design elements. They made themselves available beyond normal working hours and have spent so much time supporting us in this exciting endeavor.

We bought our house in July of 2018. We have had a fine experience with Larry the expediter but Kim Hood the realtor is very unprofessional. All of our meetings to talk about the colors and progress and changes were all rushed, she refused to give us more than 10 minutes and always said "We have to scoot or of here so it has to be quick" like we weren't worth her time.

We were NEVER allowed to walk through even though from looking through the windows we could see multiple items that were wrong. After calling them out on 3 mistakes Kim ignored all of our calls/texts/emails from myself my husband and my realtor for 2 weeks. Items we hadn't even changed from the original specs were wrong. The approved paint change was never completed. And after 2 months of living there our fireplace now doesn't work.

Home of the hack builder. It will blow your mind when you see how bad the work is done and how bad customer service treats you. From concrete to the finish work it is unbelievable on how bad it is it is even worse when they come to fix a warranty issue it will blow your mind. Also why are they using an employee ( Rebecca Calvino) to put a 5 star review? Shouldn't that be for customers?
