Dave, the owner, is fantastic to work with! He is honest and thinks of things from our position to help make the best decisions. He really made us feel like family! He was always communicating during the process and gave us any updates if there were delays due to weather or COVID. I really appreciated being kept in the loop about our project, especially when you hear so many home renovation horror stories.

He is very detailed oriented and makes sure that his entire team is professional and doesn't cut corners. We trusted Dave with the overall design of all 4 of our structures for our back patio/car port. I'm so glad we did because he brought our vision to life! Now we can enjoy our backyard with so much more shade during the hot summer months and look forward to using it the rest of the year! We also look forward to working on other home projects with Pacific Builders.

Walk away from this company. EXPENSIVE! First, Max did not show up on the appointment. Got a call one hour later saying he mixed me up with another person (yeah right) and rescheduled. Day wasted! For a 4 panel sliding door, I was quoted almost 24k! If you want to waste money then this is the right company for you.

All of my comments are based on what I saw during this one project. I seriously hope that what I saw is not typical of the workmanship of Pacific Builders. Truly, I pray it is not. Things that seem to need improvement 1. They do not seem to have any kind of quality assurance program in place 2. They have no checklist to verify everything is finished and finished correctly. 3.

Many of their subcontractors are paid by the job, so they have a tendency to rush and just get in and get out as fast as possible. This system does not seem to be conducive to getting quality work. And based on the workmanship that I saw, their main concern did not appear to be quality, but rather expediency. If I were to do it again, these are the things I think I should have had them spell out in the contract.

This applies not only to Pacific Builders but any home construction project. 1. Have them identify how they are going to run power to your sunroom or patio prior to construction. 2. Have the contract clearly state the tolerances for the construction, and have some ways to enforce it if the tolerances are not met. 3. Have in the contract what should happen if they do not place electrical outlets (or something else) as shown on the plans. 2 Stars Cody - Lead Installer and although I very disappointed with his work, he is a very nice guy.

Some of the many reasons that I give him only 2 stars Initial bottom rail was 1.75 inches off. In other words instead of being 16 feet it was 15 feet, 10 and a quarter inches. If fact Jim had him pull up the bottom rail and do it again. It makes me wonder however, why I had to point it out. How come neither Cody, nor Jim noticed it was off? When replacing the rail, Cody did not seem to know about checking if the room was square by measuring it from corner to corner. (see https://www.wikihow.com/Square-a-Roomif you want to learn for yourself) His window installation is the worst that I have ever seen, yet he seemed unaware that there was even a problem.

Basically almost every window sagged in the middle. Installed a glass sliding door on a sloped patio without any support under the door. This caused the whole door to sag at the bottom. Jim - The foreman and Cody's boss Some of the many reasons that I give him only 2 stars Never seemed to verify Cody's work. Rather just accepted it as done.

He rarely responded to texts when problems were texted to him. However he appeared to be well versed in how to text about items he thought was important. When replacing the bottom rails, Jim told me "you can have the floor square or you can have it 16 feet" when I told him that I wanted both Jim told me "I don't have all day". When I showed him how bad the glass sliding door was, he said the door must be defective.

Both he and Cody replaced the Glass Sliding door with a new one. And they did a good job by adding support under the door this time. I wish they had put that much effort into the first attempt. As a standard practice, he uses loose washers as shims under the windows to try to level them. He never did get my windows straight. I actually had to straighten out the windows myself, in order to get them even reasonably straight.

When my workmanship is better than the supposedly experienced contractors working on the project, then I have to assume that the contractors lack experience, expertise or both. 3.5 Stars Jeff - Electrician. Once again a very nice guy, as were his workers. Reason that I gave him only 3.5 stars Not very responsive to phone messages. Left a message for him on Monday.

Never returned my call, but did answer when I called him back on Thursday. Jeff's workers moved circuits in my breaker box without either relabeling them or even telling me that the circuits were moved. It is unnerving when I turn off the circuit breaker to the sunroom and the sunroom power stays on, but my living room lights go off. 4 Stars Dave Owner and Salesman Like many salesmen, he will put a positive spin on just about any concern that you have.

He has a tendency to deny problems exist, and does not always appear to have the desire or the manpower to address the issues that I brought up. 5 Stars Each of the following people on this job exceeded my expectations. Another Interesting fact, most of them work as hourly employees. Alan did the sheet rock in the interior of the sunroom and some exterior finish work Dominic installed the gable windows and fixed some other issues Ken, the carpenter, did the gable (cricket) on the roof, for the sunroom tie in to the existing roof Paul installed the French doors Monte, who detailed our sunroom and worked to get the final approval of the permit In the end, after almost a year, a lot of stress, lost sleep and frustration my sunroom is done. Did it meet my expectations?

No it didn't, but the sunroom is okay. It's not the worst sunroom, but a little below my expectations. But they had the opportunity to do so much better. I wish they had.

We hired Pacific Builders to demolish an old redwood deck, install 9 yards of concrete, build a patio with cover, and a sunroom. Everyone was very professional. They outlined everything for us, stayed in communication throughout the process and did an outstanding job. We are so extremely happy with the quality of our new sunroom, patio and patio cover. I would highly recommend Pacific Builders to anyone considering a sunroom or patio cover

Terrible customer service. Had an appointment for an estimate at 10:30am. Get a text at 10:27am that another technician from the original guy is on his way and will be there in 30 minutes. Needless to say by 12 pm with no contact I left for another appointment.

We had Pacific Builders build a large and elaborate patio cover close to 10 years ago and it still looks and performs like new. So naturally, when it came time to change out our patio slider for French doors, I called Dave. Thankfully he's still there and remembered my wife and me by name. He came out shortly after and looked at the job. The size of the opening is not standard and needed a custom order and Dave and his team took care of everything with the manufacturer. Jed, his installer was on time, friendly, professional, and meticulous.

He patiently worked with my wife on finish trim options on-site and made the adjustments. Throughout the entire process, we were treated like friends, and it was a very stress-free experience. Dave is a long-time professional in the business and it's reflected in the finished product. I highly recommend calling them first and compare the interaction and bid with others.

Expanded our existing patio cover. Both sides were to connect to our existing tile roof. One side went smoothly and was completed satisfactorily. The other 'side' needed to be connected to a tile roof that already had solar panels permanently attached. After much trial/error Pacific Builders ordered specialized brackets that would give us the height without interfering with either the gutters or the solar panels. It took much longer than the original date of completion, but the end result is what counts. Thank you Pacific Builders.

Pacific builders constructed a patio cover for a swim spa. It is a large structure. Dave came over and asked what we needed and gave us some ideas. The deposit was give to start the work. The start date was set the deep footings were put in and construction was started, due to covid-19 there was a 2 week delay for the materials. Dave kept me informed about the materials and why it was delayed, when the materials were ready the was set and the crew completed the job in a few days.

The electrician Jeff Cooper installed the electrical and did a great job. I hate doing construction projects at me house because of the horror stories I hear and read about. Pacific builders is an honest company and Dave puts himself in the customers position and treats people like he would like to be treated. Pacific builders is highly recommend.

My wife and I had multiple companies come out and give ideas for our patio cover by our pond. Dave came out and nailed exactly what we were looking for. During construction there were a few issues which were resolved to our satisfaction. This company stands by their work and follows through until the is done! In this day and age, that say a lot about a company! We would highly recommend.

Dave came out and gave me a thorough and professional presentation about pergolas. It was extremely hot that day and we were outside- the heat didn't seem to faze him. He seemed to be totally focused on understanding what I wanted and what worked best for me and my budget. What stands out is that he mentioned that I might want to consider removing my plants from actually touching my house.

He explained how the sitting water could damage the foundation of my house. I never knew that and I appreciated it soooo much! I was impressed because that told me something about this mans character and his integrity. Thats huge when doing business with someone. Ultimately, I chose to go a different direction w/my project. When Dave called to follow up with me, I let him know what I decided.

He responsed positively and understood my reasons. Then he mentioned that he was replacing his kitchen counters. Thats my next big project. He recommended the company to me that he decided to go with and told my why he liked them. Sure, he's a salesman and has those skills but I wanted everyone to know how he treated me because I think character is extremely important especially when you're spending your hard earned money!

Love the patio and Dave but the ceiling fan with the light has not worked since the permit inspection. It gets dark early and we can't even enjoy our new patio because there's no working light. I've reached out to Pacific Builders twice and was told someone will get back to me to schedule a time for the subcontractor to come out. Still haven't heard back and am beyond disappointed in the lack of customer service.

Pacific Builders installed a front yard sitting patio cover for summer and winter weather protection. From Dave developing the design from our ideas, to Richard providing the onsite plans, Carl coordinating the installation, and the office staff Debbie and Rowena it was easy to communicate and the patio cover looks great. We've received several positive comments from our neighbors.

Pacific Builders were great to work with. It was fantastic to have a project coordinator to organize all of the pieces to the project and we loved having the project be one piece divided into sections. They sent a group to do our concrete work, then once that portion of the project was complete they sent the guys over to build our stunning patio cover.

They had electricians come and they installed outlets where we wanted them and also put in our beautiful outdoor patio fan. Everyone they sent to do specific jobs were outstanding to work with. We were given a lot of choices and got to customize each part of the project to our liking. I'm a very creative person and this was by far my favorite piece to the puzzle.

Our new patio is the farthest thing from boring/standard. It reflects my style and turned out to be one of the most usable gorgeous spaces our home has to offer! Happy to recommend Pacific Builders, and happy to be a part of their family!

Like so many others I am giving this company one star due to no follow-up and wasting my time. I worked around their schedule and made sure I was home to have a salesman come and provide a quote. He spent two hours taking measurements and explaining what they could or would do. Even after several requests to have a quote provided they have gone silent.

If they ever do follow-up with me, then I will update this review based on how they choose to remedy the situation. Don't call these people because they will come out, waste your time, and never get back to you with a bid. Update: got an email stating that they are declining the job. Verbally, by phone, they stated that they are not comfortable with the engineering required for my job. I added two stars because at least they admitted that they won't do the job because they're not comfortable.

Pretty lame sales folk - website says one price, then they come out and estimate is 4K more. Just wanted basic cover they advertise 20X16 2895.00, No one calls back after they came out and told me it would be 7K - What happen to 2895?

What a bunch of losers! I went to the store over a year ago to schedule an estimate. The "manager" assured me she was sending her most experienced estimator. David, I think. He came and spent over two hours measuring. A waste if 2 hours of my Saturday. I never heard from him again. I called the manager over a month later to find out what happened and she had no idea.

Today someone actually called me to ask about my project. When I told him what losers they are, he told me they've been in business for 70 years. Hah! Good luck with these characters. I'd give zero stars if it was possible.

I waited a long time for my sunroom. I needed a room by which I could have the feel of outdoors, yet have the comfort of indoors due to my health. I wanted to share that I am extremely pleased with my "She-Shed." Dave was outstanding and continually kept me in the loop regarding the progress of the construction activities. Outstanding customer service and great sunroom. Special thanks to Rick and Dave.

I called Pacific Builders to give me an estimate on a wet area in the main bathroom with a tub to walk-in shower conversion and the master bath wet area to tile the shower. When the operations manager Dave McKeehen was done writing up the measurements, he told me that he would get back to the office and run the numbers and I would hear back from him in a week.

It has been 2 months and I never heard back from him. Very dissatisfied with Dave and Pacific Builders for not following through on getting back to the customer. I thought you were a reputable company. So sad!

I find it hard to give a 5 star review for any company because it may come off as disingenuous. With that being said Pacific builders needs 10 STARS. These guys went above and beyond for my family and I. The whole process was a big decision for my wife and I. From the beginning we met with Dave who was completely understanding with what are expectations were and what are budget would allow.

After lengthy thorough conversations with Dave about design and where he and his company hold their values to providing the best product the market has to offer. There was no pressure from them just courteous check ins. When we decided to move forward they delivered on the time line we discussed and no hold ups or excuses ever delayed any aspect of the job.

The crew that came out to do the install (BIG THANKS TO MIKE AND THE CREW) was a top notch very professional group of trade skilled man, that built our beautiful awning as if it were their own. They take a lot of pride in the projects they build and it shows beautifully. I believe PACIFIC BUILDERS is a old school company that keeps an importance on values and knows how to treat their customers. I really want to say thank you to Dave Mckeehen for making this a wonderful experience and always making himself available for any all questions we had.

Overall, Pacific Builders builds a quality product which was a patio cover and a separate patio room addition. I was pleased by Dave's suggestion relocating my redwood bench to another location of the yard and the awning placed over my kitchen screen door. They have worked with their subcontractors for over twenty to thirty years. As a few problems arose in the construction, Jim was quick to resolve them as well as Dave following up. Overall, they show respect for the homeowner and will work with a difficult schedule.

One has to have patience though, as the job completion took longer than I anticipated. I believe the latter is due to the lack of quality workers within the construction industry plus the back log of the torrential 2017 rainy season. I believe if a homeowner is able to be at home the entire time, the job would have been completed in a more timely manner.

I would not recommend this company. I was told my total bathroom remodel would take about a week. They called late December, about a week before Christmas and said that all the materials were in and could they start Monday, the week before Christmas. I agreed and they ripped out my bathroom on 12-18-17 and I was not able to use my bathroom again until 2-5-18.

It was the owner, Dave who called and said everything was in! Well guess what? Not true. It took almost eight weeks to get my floor at that point. Yes it was a special order but I would have graciously waited until February 5th to start the remodel. The whole experience was frustrating and I chose them because they were local and family owned for over 50 years. That was flawed thinking! I could go on but they have wasted enough of my time! Please don't waste yours!

My wife wanted to expand the house versus moving. She told me about Pacific Builders and Dave was very honest and professional. Dave came to the house on a Sunday and explained the whole process to us, and made us feel like we were valuable customers. We are enjoying the sunroom and are very satisfied with the workmanship, the look and the feel of the room. We are thinking about our next 2-3 projects for the house, and definitely have Pacific Builders in mind.

My experience with Pacific Builders has been a very good one.my new patio is very nice! The problems were corrected in a timely manner. Mr. Degen and his staff have always been professional with my project and concerns. I would recommend Pacific Builders. A Note: it has been over a year now since Pacific Builders installed our patio cover. It is wonderful! I just want to emphasize that the quality and workmanship of their product is well-worth the price! Happy Fall Everyone!

I have done business in the past with Pacific builders and I, too, have met the infamous "Dave". Well, Dave is a good guy who has never steered me wrong with anything and I would trust him with any suggestion about my home improvement projects. Also, the owner, Rick Degen is reasonable and responsive. He is a family based businessman who I know that at the end of the day will make everything right!

My dual pane window installation was flawless and I appreciated their reasonable price and hard work! When my slider needed maintenance, Dave was out lickety split and applied a lubricant to the door to make it work correctly again, everything with a smile and no charge. Now that's how you run a business! Pacific Builders is a local treasure! You be the judge!
