The follow up of John is terrible. After no less than 5 or 6 attempts to proceed forward with the purchase a house, with 0 responses back, we purchased elsewhere. If their lack of follow up is this poor for the purchase, I cant imagine what its like after the sale.

.See matt at pine grove homes other then a few very small details very happy with work his crew of subcontractors. Old house tore down in late june new foundation put in july moved in middle of sept, Brother in law has built many homes in the traverse city area and said to me the contractors that worked on the house was not cutting corners and did good work.

My only gripe i have is with Consumers powers not putting my electric in a timely matter. Maybe it was in the spring and that is busy time of the year. Matt kept his word did every thing I asked him to do. I would only deal with Matt if you are looking for a new home

A nice and friendly environment. Great to go to for buying a home. I enjoyed my time checking out the houses and talking to the staff. Informative and welcoming. Great people and helpful as well. Highly recommended.

Next month will be three (3) years since we closed on, and moved into our home, which we purchased through Pine Grove Homes. Our build did not go as seamless as I would have liked, and I repeatedly extended the office the benefit of the doubt. We travelled to the build site at the offices request to sump pump water out of the basement on several occasions after the basement was in but the house was not set because our site was so far from the office.

Perhaps if we were outside their comfort zone of travel they should have declined to do business with us. We had bathroom flooring that was installed improperly that was never fixed. Damaged kitchen cabinet shelves that were never repaired, along with several other miscellaneous items. We had drywall mud in carpets that took me months to get out, cracks in drywall seams that we were told someone would be back to repair, but never was.

Most recently our drywall has started to pull away from our basement stairs. Over the past couple of weeks my husband I decided we were going to put a closet in underneath our basement stairway for additional miscellaneous storage. We made a couple trips to Home Depot, and tonight after work set out to start this project. Imagine my surprise when we cut out a section of drywall to find Pine Groves contractors had sealed in all their leftover junk/garbage from completing our basement rather than hauling it away with them.

It was like one final long awaited reminder of what an unpleasant process this had all been. I hadn't taken the time to express myself three years ago, but I would never recommend this office to anyone.

I purchased 2004 model from Pine Grove back in September 2006 and have had nothing but trouble. My roof started leaking 18 months after it was set up, had stress cracks plus my 2 of my bedrooms aren't getting the heat that they should in the winter because the heat ducks weren't hooked up properly. I was told that they would come out to fix it after 18 months and 12 yrs.later still waiting. I also paid $3000 for landscaping, that was never done. Very disappointed I wouldn't recommend pine Grove to anyone.

Matt Black and his team did a great job on our Michigan beach house. They fulfilled every promise and obligation and were 100% on time and on budget. We selected high end finishes from the Rochester choices and added our own upgrades that Matt's team of professionals skillfully completed. I was able to redesign the interior to get exactly what we wanted.

We requested additional upgrades to HVAC, plumbing and electrical, special stone work, cedar siding, chimney enhancements, flooring, decks porches and patios. All work was done professionally and BEAUTIFULLY by great professional craftsmen & women. We paid extra for enhancements to the home that we picked out --but we saved a great deal of time and money in the long run by working with Pine Grove and Rochester and Matt Black.

This house is ROCK SOLID with Anderson windows and doors, great insulation and cost efficient heat pump/propane back up furnace. The wind and weather coming off the lake are no problem and the fireplace is energy efficient beyond current code. This is a great house, It was finished in less than a year (including plans, permits lot clearing, excavation, foundation, septic field and finishing including driveway and landscaping).

We explored various building methods IE stick built vs modular and determined that modular was the way to go for environmental efficiency and cost and quality control. The house sections have to be built super strong and sturdy to withstand transportation and crane installation (good to withstand the wind off the lake too). The next choice was style.

After looking at various companies in different areas we opted for "tried and true" -- we wanted a company who's houses are still standing in our area (and with our snow loads) after 50 years.

I was ably to move in as promised but I had many issues. For starters: 1. I ordered black cabinet handles throughout the entire house and received silver. Took over a month to get the color I ordered, but I had to install myself. 2. Tiling in the entire house was not what I ordered and they installed what they thought would be a replaceable without consulting me. Unacceptable. 3.

The firewall looked like a 13 yr old finger painted it. It now has cracks everywhere, which is a fire hazard. I had to sand it all down and repair myself. 4. Drywall pops and cracks in every room. Was promised someone would be back to fix. Nobody ever did, so I spent weeks repairing myself. 5. Front porch supporting beams were never capped as promised.

I was told many times someone was making them. Never installed. 6. I had an accident and broke a cabinet kitchen door. I ordered a new replacement but was sent the wrong color. Called back to inquire and was sent another, same wrong color. Called again and never heard back. 7. Carpet in livingroom and main bedroom had to be replaced. I have pictures of rooms before and after drywaller came to seem the house, and smeared drywall into the carpet. Then denied it. Took about 3 months to replace. 8. Garage door molding frame never installed, had to go buy and install myself. Not impressed.

My experience with Matt Black and Pine Grove Homes was nothing short of stellar. Matt was dependable and very knowledgeable in every aspect of the construction and all the work crews who came out were professional and cleaned up after themselves, I finally got my dream home thanks to the efforts of Matt and Pine Grove Homes.
