My need for remodeling began the first week of Feb ' 22 when I had 2 water damage claims. I was matched with Possert via USAA. Things started off fine: prompt and communicative. From there it went nowhere. I recognize the world is different and I was not the only one effected by the abundance of rain. I do not harass with multiple phones calls and/or emails. Things take time and this is a first for me.

Our 5BD home is crammed into the main level because of the damage. One son has been sleeping on the floor since the damage. We are regulated to the bedrooms and kitchen. Our other 2 living rooms are full of everything from the furnished basement. Needless to say not great living conditions. We get our 1st estimate on March 29. Which was incomplete.

Naturally called and left a message a couple of times in the next couple weeks to no avail. I was actually concerned something happened to Chris due to no response and called the main line. She told me he was fine and she would reach out to him. Tah dah, I get an email from Chris saying he was ok, just busy and thanked me for my concern. Finally got an updated estimate, though not completely as discussed. Wanted to open the wall between the 2 bedrooms downstairs and there was no rendering of such.

Once again leaving voice messages to no response. Then went to emails as that seems to be the only method to get Chris. Last week on June 2 I finally get an email he would call later in the day. Didn't happen. I then emailed again today, June 8 and miraculously got a quick response. Chris said he would call me when he got the office in the morning. Chris did say in his email that he has called a couple times and left me messages. Saying I hadn't returned his calls.

I would think any reasonable person would agree that if 4 adults and 1 teenager have been living in half a home and sleeping on floors for months, I would not ignore any call or message. Laughable. Chris even said he called between 2-3p. Nothing on my phone shows a call from Possert. I am a patient man and recognize many do not follow through on their words.

Again Chris proved me right. Never heard from him today. Figured I would give him til the end of the day. I called at 430p. Apparently Possert ends the day at 4p. Oh well, left a message for Chris and upfront anyway. At this point I felt I had no choice but to contact USAA. Now this was interesting and wish I called sooner. Apparently, Possert closed/voided/terminated (whatever the term is) the job weeks ago!

Amazing and at the same perplexing. Considering THIS morning through email Chris made no mention. So why call me? I have no email from Possert indicating the change of my status. Incredible. USAA says Possert claimed I was not responding. Thankfully I document EVERYTHING. Time and length of calls. Emails. Obviously can provide all documentation of my phone records to show no calls from Possert.

Naturally I felt compelled to leave this review, months wasted and now starting all over. Should have read some reviews prior to accepting the recommendation as our contractor. This isn't the first time. Save yourself the aggravation and stress. Possert is not capable of handling all the work and even stated as such by Chris. I guess my job was not big enough for them? I don't know. AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL.

This review is solely my perspective based on my experience. Possert Construction in Beavercreek Ohio was the recommended company by my insurance company USAA. My first meeting was with Chris Jones, who is the Sales Manager. After corresponding with Chris, I felt pretty confident with moving forward with them to do the repairs., and we hired them in Jan 2021 to repair a couple of areas in our basement after we had a minor flood.

My second meeting was with Logan Rouston, who was assigned as the project manager. Logan stopped by, looked at the project area and assigned a team of folks to start the project. The first set of guys that came had the assignment to repaint the areas. They were professional; nevertheless, If had to rate them separately, I would give their work 3 out of 5 stars.

You could tell the it was rushed job and some areas needed touch-ups. The second set of guys that came were the trim guys -- they replaced baseboards and some the other trim and said the would come back to finish painting, but never came back. I relayed this to Logan and told him that I was lost on who was doing what. Logan rarely followed up with me and barely checked his team's work after they told me they were done.

There was an issue that came up with USAA regarding replacing the damaged flooring. At this time, I was talking to Prosser's flooring contractor A&B Flooring -- the team at A&B did a great job trying to locate the exact flooring; nevertheless they could not get it in. Donnie, over at A&B kept me abreast along the way. After the floor was laid, there were some issues with craftsmanship; however, Donnie addressed the areas that his team was responsible for fixing.

I would give A&B flooring 5 out of 5 stars. I was a little lost with regard to who should've been keeping me abreast of the project. As the project manager, Logan should've been the one -- not Donnie nor Logan's team. I had to call Logan to get status and voice my concerns with regard to my project. He should've followed up with me, the customer to make sure things were good.

He did not. Logan sent two guys over to replace the door trim. Again, very processional; nevertheless, they also were the guys that were assigned to paint the door trim.and it was done sloppy. At this point I didn't complain -- I was tired -- I had people from Prossert in and out my house from Jan 2021 - end of April 2021, and again it was a small project. Yes, we had to wait on some trim and work out issues with flooring; nevertheless, we lost some time do to the lack of communication and assumption that some of the work was completed.

At times, I started asking "what are you here to do". I forgot to add, I was told that once the project is complete, the project manager will walk the site and double check everything.well, the project was completed on 27 April, and today is 13 May, and NO ONE has contacted me nor walked the project site -- but they did send the invoice for payment!

I have included a few pics (I have more). I had to tell them to fix the shoddy workmanship -- which they did; nevertheless, he problem is, the customer should not have to ask for shoddy craftsmanship to be fixed.the company should take pride in the their brand. Bottom, based on MY experience, I would not hire or recommend Prossert -- the lack of project management, coupled with shoddy workmanship is just not worth the headache nor the money.

We have roofs replaced by Possert Construction on two different homes and on my husband's building where he works. Always a quick, clean, good job. We have also used Possert for repairs inside a garage and for water damage repairs involving framing, drywall repair, and painting. Always first rate. Would not hesitate to recommend and hire again.

I have no doubt they knew my review was coming so I'm curious if they will bother to respond or not. I don't really care if they do, because I'm only speaking the truth. The short version is that it took MONTHS to complete a project and there was little communication and a lot of pointing the finger at the insurance company and the subcontractors.

Sorry but you're the company that was hired and it's your job to make sure they do their jobs and it doesn't take months to complete what should have been a fairly small and simple kitchen project after a leak. My house was left with a ripped out kitchen sink area while it was being shown for selling thanks to them. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

Very hard working honest group. They get the job done an done right. I enjoy doing business with Possert they treat the customers and employees like family. I've done a good amount of business with Tom. Theres no job to big or to small nor to complicated Possert masters all. They are a very clean organized respectful group. The employees are very polite.

The owner is one heck of a guy to he sure feeds his crew an sub contractor's good. I watched him deliver a huge stack of pizza for everyone how thoughtful. I really am greatful an thankful to have such great experiences with Possert. I would recommend these guys for any job.5 stars hands down thanks for making Dayton Strong again. You guys have been all over the place.

I need to counteract some of these unfair ratings of one star. Delays because they were swamped with work and in two cases were not timely in returning calls or meet up times does not deserve lowest rating possible. Temper tantrums don't belong here. The work is the most important part. Communication is a good thing but not the most important thing.

Be wary of these reviews also because they come from people without a history on yelp. That said. Possert did some work for us replacing a bad column on second story porch and did a great job. This was probably ten years ago. They also redid my neighbors roof after a hailstorm and that was probably five years ago. They accomplished the job quickly and with good quality and were then recommended by said neighbor. They were a contractor of choice by USAA-an insurance company that has exceptionally high customer satisfaction.

My floor repair went from a 3 day estimated job time to a 6 month saga to complete. Our PM basically ghosted us and left my family to walk on a concrete slab for that time. Our mistake we won't go with a insurance recommended contractor in the future.

All work was done professionally, and in a timely manner. Personnel were very helpful getting me to recognize issues with the insurance estimate. This was an insurance repair, plus an upgrade. Very happy with the outcome.

Just don't go here. Subcontractors would not show up. The new water heater flooded the new flooring twice and the flooring had to be replaced. Timelines were not met. Rarely was there oversight on the premises: so closet doors were put on upside down and my vehicle could not be driven as the driveway failed to be paved while out of town and on return I could not pull my car out of the garage. Gary did rent a vehicle while the pavement dried.

Have insurance if you deal with this company as our insurance had to cover the water damage incurred by the flooding from Korrect Plumbing (the subconcontractor). Possert subcontractor failed to cover water damage. Never again. With this tornado damage I am urging fair warning. Documentation substantiates these statements.

In November one week after moving into our home our sewer backed up into the basement. Josh our project manager has had amazing communication, even on his days off he has promptly handled questions. His crew has been 100% professional and curious! Our insurance company originally gave us another construction company, however their sister company serve pro did such an amazing job that we requested Possert and after more communication with our insurance company Possert was already approved through their company (usaa).

Its bee a stressed experience as this is our first purchase a d first big issue, hands down possert and Josh and his crew have made this so much less stressful than we expected this to be! Way to go guys, yall have great communication all the way around and have been as friendly as they get!

Do NOT for the love of all that is good work with these nasty no good people. First they don't communicate at all when work is being done. I found out last week it was Wednesday then they moved it to Thursday. Secondly the wait time, I've been without a washer or drier for 1.5 months yeah months because they can't schedule and won't pick up the phone.

The contractor was 3.15 hours late to the job because he was dropping stuff off for another job. You say 8, be here at 8 not 11:15. Not acceptable. Now because he was late I will be without AC and hot water for 3 days. They had to take out my furnace and water heater. These people deserve $0 and should be paying me for the inconvenience, stress, and harm this is caused me. It's not ok to leave people without AC in the middle of summer. It's not okay to be a jerk. I'm so done, and if I can sue I will.

Possert Construction is an extremely unprofessional contractor who takes to no value in potential customers. During a recent windstorm I had a tree fall on a rental property in in Dayton, OH, after the first contractor I had hired to accomplish the work informed me it was outside of his skill level he recommended I contact Possert Construction to receive an estimate to complete the work.

After calling Possert they quickly scheduled an appointment for 8 March to assess the damages and the insurance estimate and informed me they would provide an estimate back in the middle of the following week. After not receiving the estimate by close of business on Wednesday March 13th I called to get an update and they said the estimate is taking longer than planned and they had to clear a couple concerns with the insurance estimate through management but should be done on early the following week.

On Thursday March 21st I received an email from their sales manager informing me "Unfortunately, due to the volume of current jobs we have scheduled, I will be unable to generate a repair estimate for the property project at this time. This winter weather has provided more work than we can handle right now and created a lengthy backlog." While I fully understand being "too busy" due to the amount of damage the storm caused in the Dayton area the fact that it took them nearly TWO WEEKS from the initial visit to inform me they would be unable to provide the estimate in unacceptable, unprofessional and frustrating.

Due to this delay I further risk damage to the property and have to explain to the tenant why the repairs are going to be further delayed while I find a reputable company to provide an estimate. Given this experience I would under no circumstances recommend anyone attempt to hire Possert Construction.

Disclaimer re: post by Charles Barnard. We are NOT related! Contrary to that post, I have used Possert Construction for over 20 years with nothing but the most professional service delivered by people with utmost courtesy and respect. Some 20 years ago Possert did some interior work in my home. We got called away for a short trip during the completion of repair work.

We felt so comfortable with the Possert crew that we left a key to our house with them. Upon return, the work was completed perfectly, exceeding our expectations in every respect. Since that time, when we have needed home repairs Possert has been our "go to" provider. They've re-roofed our house twice, to fix hail damage. The last time they applied asphalt shingles as well as metal roofing.

And the absolutely fantastic service provided included negotiation with our insurance company on the disconnect between the appraiser's estimate and actual cost (excluding our addition of metal roofing, of course, as that was an improvement we requested). Our insurance company fully trusted Possert in this process and paid the revised amount for roof repair without equivocation or any involvement by us personally. Doesn't get better than that! You can trust Possert throughout the entire process, from appraisal to work completion, to billing. I wouldn't use anyone else, period!

Poor customer service. Ignores the customer. Routinely fails to respond to emails. Minimal oversight at the construction site. More to follow.
