We are a Builder/General Contractor in the Tri-State area of Virginia, Maryland, and West Virginia. Additionally, we are able to build in some areas of Pennsylvania. We can also help you buy and erect a log home package anywhere in the United States. We can customize any plans to suit your unique needs (or dreams).
These log homes historically replicate the original 200-year-old log homes of our forefathers. They consist of 6 x 12-inch or 6 x 14-inch logs that can be as much as 40 feet in length, and are hand hewn. We also have other styles available depending on customer preference. The homes are technologically designed for superior efficiency, settling, and structural sturdiness.
Heavy Timber or Post and Beam homes are unique in their design. They have the appearance of a typical conventionally built home on the exterior. On the interior, there is a beautiful structural frame of massive timbers to create a beautiful and structurally sound home. The exterior of the home is framed as a typical stick built home or can be covered with a highly energy efficient blanket of foam core panels which allows the customer to finish the exterior in any way they choose (i.e.: siding, stone, or brick).
Ronald M. Hawes, Inc. has a portfolio of popular custom plans which it regularly builds for clients. The company also works with plans that have been designed by the client's architects or we can help them design their home from scratch. Many of the conventional plans have worked well as combination or hybrid homes, allowing the client to add log and heavy timber accents, wings or additions. Contact us for more information on these homes. Construction of conventional homes is only available in the tri-state area.
