Services
Founded in 1959 by Ned Ryder, Ryder Homes remains family-owned and operated by Ned's son, Jay Ryder. Over the past 25 years, Jay has grown the company into one of the nation's top 200 building firms, and the largest privately held homebuilder in Northern Nevada. Our experienced team of homebuilding professionals and our meticulous approach to home design has made the Ryder name synonymous with quality craftsmanship.
Like a highly skilled craftsman, Ryder Homes creates communities that appeal to a variety of homebuyers' tastes and expectations. This talent for blending the right combination of colors, lines, shapes, and textures has made our company a success wherever we build. Our goal is to create a home that offers the most desirable features for the best possible value.
After working with Ryder Homes since childhood, Jay Ryder joined the firm fulltime in 1990. Always a hands-on Executive, his focus on overall corporate and project management includes land acquisition, entitlement processing, sales and marketing, construction management, the establishment of strategic direction and product development, and overseeing activities of all senior management.
You obviously deserve the best of the best for your home, and we are committed to building every home using the highest quality materials and workmanship. Your Project Manager's (PM) job is to ensure that your new home is built according to the Uniform Building Code and State and City specifications & codes.

I take no pleasure in writing this review. Ryder has failed to disclose to it's buyers. Don't enter the office without an agent. Ryder has given away our common area without our consent. They left our neighborhood with the bill for maintaining the Sugar Loaf Peak Trail (approx $4000 monthly). Home Owners had no say in these items. I'm fearful that they are leaving without completing the landscaping work completed. Trust has been broken. Buyer beware!

I recently became aware of the November 02, 2017 Maintenance Agreement For Donovan Ranch Landscape Improvements. In part, our Sugar Loaf Peak LMA would be solely responsible for any and all costs associated with the Washoe County Sugar Loaf Peak Trail ( owned by the county) adjacent to the Shadow Ridge Neighborhood in perpetuity. This includes but is not limited to the maintenance, improvements, liability, and insurance. Ryder represents the majority board member of the Sugar Loaf Peak LMA and directed the Sugar Loaf Peak LMA to enter into this agreement.

There is no indication that this agreement was discussed or written in the LMA meeting minutes. This agreement also was never recorded with the county. The sales agent for Ryder did not disclose at any time during the buying process of my house the existence or discuss the financial obligation that I could incur due to this agreement. The Shadow Ridge Discovery jump drive that I was given included various documents including the Shadow Ridge General Buyer Disclosure, CC&R Sugar Loaf Peak LMA, and many more.

The discovery documents were dated from November 11, 2016 to October 10, 2018 but did not include the Maintenance Agreement For Donovan Ranch Landscape Improvements document. The Ryder Sugar Loaf LMA board members have been asked by home owners at the last two meetings why this agreement was not disclosed at any time during the the selling of a Ryder Home.

No Ryder board member has yet offered a reason why it was not disclosed. If I had known Ryder was the type of business that would enter into an agreement that would cause an additional financial impact to buyers and not disclose it, I would not have bought a Ryder Home.

Buyer Beware! This builder is doing false advertising for a new home development called Meadow Creek in Santa Rosa. Their website shows modern new homes with 4 plans and they claim they are having a grand opening next weekend-drove up today and ended up in some slum area with a couple of framed houses and a trailer saying Meadow Creek. This is a scam do no give them any personal information and report them to the state contractor's licensing board.

Beautiful layouts. The ones we were able to see were all one level. Decent sized yards, front and back.

Beautiful, well constructed home. I have lived here for 10 months and am very happy with my purchase. Everyone I have worked with has been very professional and responsive.

Great homes. Terrible sales staff. We have been there twice to look at homes and liked what we saw. However the condescending attitude of the sales staff is too much to bear.

Ryder should be more discerning about who's representing them in the office on weekends. Case in point: a homeowner came in on Sunday to complain that the house being built on her lot was not the plan she had chosen. The representative there that day brushed off her complaint by saying he wasn't her agent and could do nothing. My son, a potential buyer, heard that remark and immediately decided he could not do business with a company that treated their customers in that fashion. So the employee's rudeness lost the company a lucrative sale. And you can be sure that my son and his wife will spread the word.

Love this community and the homes a very well built. Too bad the LMA Ryder contracted is worthless despite having a homeowner rep on the board.

Horrible. this builder is cheap and produces a horrible home. DO NOT use them. So many issues, so many things that should absolutely NOT be wrong with a new home. A. Plumbing lines not closed and leaking under house sewage B. Fruit and Soda cans inside walls, crawlspace and attic - lazy gross contractors C. Heater does not work and water building up under heater D. 9/10 appliance major issues E. Cabinets chipping all over - cheap paint F. Walls chip way to easy G. Fire alarms do not work and electrically installed incorrectly and the list goes on. these people are crooks. TERRIBLE builders
