I enjoyed working with Tisdale. They are a class act and we're very accommodating to me and my wife. We had some expected changes come up (just like any construction project) and they worked their hardest to make them work, even with a less than ideal drawing set. My project was an addition to a house built in 1958 and most contractors would not touch the project. Tisdale took the challenge and produced a great result.

Tisdale started construction on my house a year ago and we're about 90% done. We had many bumps in the road and there were times when I felt concerned as any homeowner would. However, if Frank said he'd fix, he would fix it. The framers did a fabulous job tying in new construction to the old home. They thought ahead to frame for doors in areas that we omitted a door.

They also made sure that fire block was in every crack and crevice. The roof trusses and indoor framing were excellent. They also removed an interior wall in the kitchen to open the house up by adding an additional support beam and footer. It looks wonderful! The tie in to the new construction also looks fabulous. It looks natural and doesn't scream new addition.

The plumbing is still being worked on but we decided to re-plumb the house. The pexing/plumbing now goes through the ceiling which is good for insurance/leak purposes. We also have a clean out now as the previous one was buried under a FL room. The house originally had an illegal bathroom which was removed and 2 bathrooms were made in the addition to the house.

The HVAC was also completely redone. We now have returns in every room which should make the house super efficient. We had to put the indoor unit above our kitchen/great room due to attic space which makes me nervous but they installed a pump to clear water from the pan to the outside so we shouldn't have to worry. He also installed our range hood and added fans and exhaust.

Electric has been a process. We are not done so I don't want to go into much detail but we had new electrical wiring in the bid for the whole house. There were some small details that were overlooked but we're working with Frank to get it resolved. Framing was done in different stages. Our exterior doors were replaced early. Of course this is not ideal because it has gotten beaten up during construction. Hopefully it can easily be repaired once we're done as that's a punch list item.

Another reason to love Frank/Tisdale is when the interior framing went up originally, it was sloppy. I had pointed it out to my husband but we didn't want to say anything as it wasn't done. The next time we were there we noticed all the framing was off and leaning against the wall. Frank took them off the job and brought in someone else that did a fabulous job.

On areas that there would be a large gap he sunk the framing in. It looks so much better! He also gave us tips on how to finish the framing and doors as we are painting ourselves. Remodeling a home is really stressful but having a good GC is worth the investment. Ours was a huge investment but we wanted to keep it a family home. Thankfully, contractors in pinellas need to be licensed but unless you have the time to do the research and stay on top of the job, you need a good GC. I come from a family of licensed trades and understand the importance of investing in good contractors.
