I cannot thank Woodcastle Homes enough for everything they have done for my husband and I. We knew we wanted a custom home built for us but weren't quite sure about how to get started. From the moment that we met Chris and family, we got to share our ideas, they took our vision and turned it into a reality. We have lived in our Woodcastle home for the past two years and we absolutely love it. Highly recommend! 100% satisfaction guaranteed from concept to completion.

Chris and his wonderful family have been with us on our incredible journey for the last two years as we have transitioned ourselves from California to New Hampshire helping us to finally build the home we dreamed of for the last 20 years. We meet Chris while looking at various building lots in the Merrimack, New Hampshire area. He has become more than just a builder to our family.

We honestly believe that his clients become part of the Woodcastle Homes family. He cares deeply about the houses he builds and the clients' needs. This extends from him through his family and his subcontractors. Our project presented some interesting challenges. First off, we were living across the country during the entire design and build phase. Second, we brought in another pair of eyes to help oversee the project. Third, our house is designed to be ADA complaint in most regards. Lastly, this was not our first build.

We built our previous home, and therefore might have been slightly more intune with the building process than the typical homeowner. Living in California during the process did present challenges; however, Chris was a pleasure to work with and made building our second home actually easier and smoother start to finish than our first when we did live near by.

From picking materials and colors to communication about details or changes needed in the field, he sent us hundreds of pictures showing all aspects of the construction. He promptly answered emails, texts and phone calls whenever a question arose. He kept us well informed about the schedule. In fact, his estimation on the amount of time to completion was absolutely accurate.

He had estimated approximately 11-12 months. From the day of ground breaking to completion, it was exactly 1 year when we were able to spend our first night in the home. We made one trip out during the construction to work on material selection. The rest of the process, such as kitchen design, was done with his wonderful suppliers and subcontractors via email and phone. Chris and his suppliers were easy to work with, especially if something needed to be changed.

We also did pick out some of our finishes using the Internet which we were able to ship to Chris for installation. Our house was definitely not a typical home for any builder due to the design and details, but Woodcastle rose to the challenge. Chris was flexible working with people that we brought into the project such as a structural engineering firm, a home inspector and a lighting designer.

We will say that it did require some extra coordination all around, but he was willing to work with others outside of his standard team. Chris kept ADA in mind at all times presenting alternatives from the original design that would both be more functional and more cost effective. Our contract with Chris was also atypical in that we chose to not go via allowances, but rather strove towards completion specifications of all material selections.

This was easily reflected in the disbursement spreadsheet provided. Chris always kept the cost to us in mind during the entire process. Lastly, as with any new home (or even old home), there are bound to be issues. We've had a few minor issues since we have moved in. Either Chris or John or the subcontractor who did the original installation have responded in an extremely timely fashion usually within hours.

They are still building homes in the subdivision so having them around in the neighborhood is also comforting to know. However, even when not immediately around, they will go the extra mile(s) to help out or inspect the issue/concern and get it addressed. We've been extremely impressed and pleased with Chris and his wonderful family and as we said we feel we are part of the Woodcastle Homes family. The love and care and artistry of Chris, his family, and subcontractors show in every detail our beautiful new home. Jonathan & Robin Klein

Woodcastle Homes - now going on 3 yrs since the acceptance has been excellent, the build quality is exceptional, any issues were met with speedy communication and swift resolution. Originally as the build progressed the Builder (Chris Groff (which is a family operation)) was always will to accommodate and deliver on our vision even if it required changes.

We found the entire family committed to providing a high quality product and assisting in anyway possible on the smooth transition from property selection, to lot placement to meeting deadlines. In the end we felt as if we were family! Their commitment to take calls and "be there" long after the close is simply special and appreciated. I would recommend them highly! Henry T

I saw my first Woodcastle Home at an Open House of one of their homes in December, 2005. I was immediately impressed with the quality of work in this house as it compared to the custom home I had built in 1996. I engaged in a conversation with Chris Groff about my home; what I liked, what I didn't like, what I would do differently if I were to do it again, etc.

Three days later, there were plans in my mailbox with a note from Chris that read "I think this is the house you were describing". Indeed, my wife and I fell in love with the plans. After some tweaking to the plans, turning a 2500 square foot house into a 3500 square foot house, we asked for a quote. I went out for a competitive quote as well, but Woodcastle Homes won the job in February, 2006. Chris, and his wife Chrystal, were instrumental in the listing of and selling of our Amherst home and in finding us a nice, private, buildable lot in Merrimack.

Throughout the building process, Chris' attention to detail was evident. On occasion, when having to deal with my "stressed out" wife, he maintained his calm and cool nature ensuring that our "wants" and "needs" were met to our satisfaction. We closed in August, 2006. Ten years later, our Woodcastle looks and lives like it did the day we moved in.

Any minimal issues that we have incurred through the years, , Chris and his subs have been a phone call away. Two years ago, when we decided to add on a three season room, we called Woodcastle Homes to oversee the project. Chris' son John had joined the company by then and he sucessfully GC'd the project from beginning to end with the same professional temperment that he obviously inherited from his Dad. If I were to build again, I would hire Woodcastle Homes without hesitation or reservation and it is with the same integrity that I write this review!

I can not say enough good things about our experience with Woodcastle homes! From our first days meeting the owner Chris and his wife we have had nothing but positive experiences. Chris helped us sell our previous home in Nashua and walked us seamlessly through the process of finding a lot, picking out a plan and ultimately building our dream home!.

Within the first year of our home, true to his word Chris touched up any popped screws (very minor) due to home settling. Now 6 years later we are still enjoying this dream home and telling others about our wonderful and low stress experience with Woodcastle Homes.

Chris built our house 6+ years ago and I'm blown away by the negative review as it could not be further from the truth. Unfortunately happy customers do not usually leave reviews especially on home construction. We had minor issues after moving in and everything was taken care of quickly and without hesitation. Woodcastle is a small family business and over the years we have met several other families of Woodcastle homes and this is the first time I have ever seen or heard a negative review. I would agree with Chris. talk to the local building inspectors and ask about the quality of home that Woodcastle builds, it is second to none.
