CainRashWest Architects (CRW) and GoinsRashCain Construction Services (GRC) were established as professional corporations in 1988. Since that time, the companies have successfully designed and constructed various building types including retail centers, restaurants, hospitality, ecclesiastical, corporate, medical facilities, and industrial projects.

The company is owned and managed by Luther D. Cain, AIA, and M. Hiram Rash, AIA, along with Dineen B. West, AIA, who serves as a managing Principal of CainRashWest Architects.

GRC Construction was incorporated in 1988, as a commercial general contractor to provide construction and construction management services to the East Tennessee and Southwest Virginia region. The company was founded by architects, Luther Cain and Hiram Rash. Shortly thereafter, CainRashWest Architects was established as GRC's sister company, to assist with architectural and engineering design needs. The company welcomed four stockholders, Pat Breeding, Tim Lorimer, Dineen West and Tim Hammond, in 2013.

Since our founding we have been responsible for over $1 Billion dollars of Building Construction. 2009 The renovation of "The Press Building" was a catalyst for re-development in what had become a dilapidated area of town since the closing of The Kingsport Press. 2019 the city needed a new facility for animal services.
