Kermit joined the company in 1983 upon graduation with a Associate of Arts in Applied Sciences from Indian Hills Community College. Kermit began his career at WINBCO focused on engineering design, purchasing, and project cost estimates. Over time, Kermit headed up Quality Assurance, then moved into Sales before coming Operations Manager.

For more than 85 years, API has led the development of petroleum and petrochemical equipment and operating standards. The API maintains more than 500 standards and recommended practices and many have been incorporated into state and federal regulations. API's standards are increasingly being adopted by the International Organization for Standardization.
