Jeff Johnson Timber Frames, Inc. is a small, owner-operated timber frame company in the southwestern mountains of North Carolina. We make the extra effort to be sure your timber frame or post and beam structure is constructed with the highest quality joinery. Our joints are fully housed including knee braces. Housed joinery increases the strength and stability of any timber frame structure.

Owner Jeff Johnson is a native of Alabama. He is a Designer and Timber Framer, 3rd generation in the timber industry, family logging business and silvaculture forestry. Owner Susan Johnson is a native of Tennessee. Susan doesn't get to spend much time at the office anymore due to her hectic nursing schedule at the local hospital, but you may catch her holding down the office from time to time when Maria is out.

Born in Derby, CT, he was the son of the late Harry Kibby Crocker and Gladys Irene Lowe Crocker. Mr. Crocker loved his family and his friends dearly. No matter if he was just visiting, conversing over coffee and doughnuts, fishing, helping with timber frames, restoring old machinery, welding, sandblasting or woodworking, He most always had a smile on his face and a friend by his side.

He and his team will design, hand-cut, deliver and raise your timber frame at your site with the goals of safety, strength, beauty and elegance in mind. Our joinery is taken from styles of English, German, Japanese and early American.

Developing a plan should always begin with your access or how you and your guests will enter the home. Things such as, how easy will it be to bring groceries or supplies in to the kitchen, should also be considered.
