Chicago Handyman were excellent to work with. I had a quick quote based on pictures and had them scheduled right away. Jaime came out and repaired the drywall and mudded everything before he left the first day. The next day he painted that section and you can't tell the difference between that spot and the old paint. Would recommend to anyone looking for work around their home.

I've worked with Dan on three separate occasions, which should tell you something. He's been a great partner, and fair every step in of the way - work is good, no nickel and diming, and he sticks to deadlines. No contractor is perfect, but Dan cares about the work he does, has integrity, and is a good communicator. I'll use him again. They started out great and we're able to work through some weird Chicago style 'behind the walls' issues, but ended up ghosting me when it came time to do the finishing touches. I had arranged for them to come finish up on a Friday; around 2pm I emailed and asked if they would be coming, I was told they were ordering parts (was not aware I needed any 'parts' as all that was left was putting in a small piece of flooring (that I already have) and reattaching baseboards), was not told what parts were being ordered, and was also asked for payment despite payment being made on day of work. I had to end up calling on another company to finish the job.

Our bathroom ceiling had just been taken out and dried by a different company and when we reached out to them to this day still haven't given us an estimate to put up new drywall and light fixture on the ceiling but I called Chicago Handyman immediately and got an estimate and someone out here within a week and did great work and made our bathroom ceiling look like new.

I've had the remains of a shattered shower glass door in my bathroom for THREE WEEKS and I called so many glass specialists, contractors, handymen, etc., and not ONE had the time or diligence to do this. I called Chicago Handyman and an hour later I had someone in my bathroom cleaning it up safely. I thought I'd have to schedule something and then they might show up and then it would be a whole thing but nope! They just come and do the work. I am really grateful to Dan and Leo. Thank you SO much.

I'm so excited I found this company. I had dealt with someone else previously and didn't have the best experience. I just moved here and knew I would need to find someone who could help with projects I couldn't figure out myself. Welp I found them!!! They were great! On time, fair pricing and were able to help me get my closet installed. They were super organized and able to figure out the problems that I had with metal studs. I will never use another company. If you're on the edge and not sure, trust me when I say hire them!!!!! I will not use anyone else. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!!!!!

We had Joe come out recently to fix a few things around our house: a leaky faucet, a misaligned door that would no longer lock normally and an exterior door with a rotten threshold and frame. We couldn't have been happier with the service provided; the company was responsive, Joe arrived on-time, his work was excellent and his attitude outstanding. We'll definitely use again for future projects, I would highly recommend for anyone in need of a handyman.

This work turned out very, very well for a competitive price. We have used Chicago Handyman several times for all different kinds of projects and as with prior work this project gave us a result we are very happy with. The team is committed to creating good quality work and it shows by the end. While they will work with your budget and style requirements, they also work hard to make sure you end up with something you will be happy with and that will last.
We often find the process of doing these kinds of projects to be bumpy - once the project starts things never go quite as originally envisioned and it's not always a perfect process - but by the end the work is very good and we are happy that we chose Chicago Handyman. I would definitely recommend them to others.

This review is long overdue but worth the 5 star rating. I met Dan last year when one of my tenants moved out with no notice. He came into unit that needed a full gut demo on the kitchen and was unfazed by the mess that these tenants had left. He and his team were so professional and super helpful every step of the way, especially since I live on the East Coast. Dan kept me updated on the status of the projects, working to meet my deadlines for showing and leasing the unit.
He has a network of workers with lots of experience in the trades. He was able to get all the window screens replaced, which I was having an impossible time hiring someone to do. His work was so good, I asked him back to redo the 2nd floor kitchen & bath, paint, redo hardwood floors, install ceiling fans, and create a custom barn door for the master walk-in closet. Ready for him to bring his team and refresh the 1st floor duplex unit now!

A bit overdue review. We've had Dan in for our second project now, first one involving tearing down a wall to create a walk through, and the second for a shower leak through the kitchen ceiling. He has been extremely fast to respond, and he is on time! I've dealt with contractors in the past who don't even show up for an estimate! In response to a previous poster about one of Dan's sub contractors not showing up; that did happen to me too, and we were not happy about it. However, what deserves a 5 star is the way business was handled. $#+ happens in life that's beyond our control.
How we handle $#+ is what defines us. Dan came in himself to finish all the repairs. He stayed till 8, sometimes 9pm, and came in on saturday and Sunday. Thanks Dan for all your effort, especially around the new born!

Dan installed a new Waste King kitchen disposal unit, purchased through Amazon. He notified through text before arrival which was very helpful. Unfortunately, the unit that I purchased did not have the same hook up as the unit to be replaced (needed an outlet). Dan explained everything very clearly and offered a quick solution. When I gave the go-ahead, he promptly purchased the necessary parts at a local hardware store and installed the disposal unit with new outlet in under 30 minutes. Overall, very impressed by his friendliness, honesty, and resourcefulness - not to mention a professional job. I would definitely recommend his services.

Dan was a great help. I needed a loft built. I wanted to participate in the building so I was seeking a handyman to come and build it with me. I searched everywhere with poor results. Most people wanted to charge insane rates. One guy I tried to hire didn't show on the day of the build. Dan was awesome. He came when he said he would. We got the entire loft built in one day. Including a set of stairs. The loft has been up for about 8 months now. It was built safe and sound! Any future projects I will be sure to call him!
