Arc Fault Troubleshooting

Most microwave ovens will generate arcs and sparks inside their cavity if they are run with an insufficient load, or no load whatsoever. The high-frequency content from these arcs is being coupled through the HV transformer section of your microwave onto the AC line, where the AFCI can then see it and proceed to freak out, thinking the arcing is actually an AC mains arc, not a microwave cavity arc.

For automatic standby power, there are a few options - new construction allows for the option of a Generator Ready panel that allows the generator to be installed and purchased at a later time without costly retrofit transfer switch installations. These panels are specific to certain brands of generators, so please call if you have questions.

DSC Security Instructions

You can either arm the system by pressing 1234, or press & hold the AWAY button until the keypad beeps, the system will then beep for 120 seconds (2 minutes) before becoming armed. A door must be opened then closed within that 120 seconds for the system to recognize that someone has left the house.

Homeowner Corner

All breakers in your panel should be tripped and reset annually, and GFCI and/or AFCI breakers should have the test button pushed also. Keep all electrical devices (including phone, data and cable) free and clear of dust, dirt and other debris. All GFCI receptacles should be tripped and reset at least twice a year.
